Biographical Sketch
Well known internationally as the “master motivator”, Spence M Finlayson is the Founder, President & CEO of The Phoenix Institute For Positive Development and Empowerment, a human resources development firm based in Nassau, Bahamas.
He is a graduate of St. Augustine’s College and The Bahamas Hotel Training College in Nassau, where he received an Associates Degree in Hotel Management in 1977. Finlayson spent many years in the hospitality industry beginning his career at the prestigious Lyford Cay Club as a front desk clerk and ending at Merv Griffin’s resort International Resort & Casino as a night manager. He then went on to become a top sales consultant for the Bahamas Yellow Pages.
Additionally, he became a certified trainer in 1988 at Ron Willingham’s Integrity Training Systems in Dallas, Texas.
Finlayson has created and hosted numerous radio and television programs including “The Possible Dream “ TV Show which aired on ZNS TV 13 in Nassau, Bahamas, “The Essence Of Success” Radio show and “Mind Your Own Business” which was syndicated throughout the English speaking Caribbean. |
Spence Finlayson has been thrilling audiences for two decades, with his dynamic upbeat, high energy seminars and workshops in his native Bahamas and the Caribbean. He has conducted workshops in over 20 foreign countries. He is a results oriented individual who catalyses people into positive action. A former Rotarian of the year, Spence’s Client list reads like a Who’s Who in the corporate Caribbean.
A former track and field star, he rose from humble beginnings in Nassau, overcoming numerous struggles and challenges to become a recognized leader in his field.
